Welcome to Leonardo.Ai! Follow these simple steps to create stunning images using this powerful AI-based creativity suite. Whether you’re working on illustrations or marketing materials, Leonardo.Ai allows you to create high-quality visuals quickly and consistently.

1. Navigate to AI Image Generation

After logging into Leonardo.Ai, open the AI Image Generation tool:

  • Click on Image  Generation in the Get Started Here section at the top, or find it under AI Tools in the left sidebar.

On the Image Generation page, you’ll see preset options like Preset, Preset Style, Generation Mode, Image Dimensions, and Number of Images.

  • Presets: These combine different models, styles, and settings tailored for specific aesthetics like cinematic, anime, and illustrative images.
  • Preset Style: Within each preset, choose styles such as HDR or Moody to add unique photorealistic effects.
  • Generation Mode:
    • Fast: Quicker results but lower quality—ideal for drafts or ideas.
    • Quality: Takes longer but generates high-resolution images with refined details.

For your first image, start with the default settings.

2. Enter a Text Prompt

Under the Image Generation header, type a concise, descriptive prompt in the text box. Image generation works best with specific keywords rather than full sentences. For example, instead of:

“Please draw me an orange cat by the window sill.”

Use a direct prompt:

“an orange cat by the window sill.”

Tips for Structuring Prompts

A typical prompt includes:

  • Subject (e.g., “a woman” or “a cat”)
  • Medium (e.g., “analog photography” or “paint canvas”)
  • Style (e.g., “long exposure photography” or “impasto”)

For a simple start, use a short description; as you gain experience, experiment with details. You may skip Medium or Style and select an option from Preset or Preset Style instead.

3. Click on the Generate Button

Once you’ve entered your prompt, click the Generate button. Note that the button will show the token cost for the generation. Depending on your settings, generation can take around 30-40 seconds.

After processing, your images will appear on the screen, ready to download and use.
